Conditions of entry
- Choreographers must have a professional education. Choreographers must be 39 or younger.
2. The competition is open to any kind of style. Evaluation is based exclusively on imaginative use of space and time, the realisation of an idea, and its transfer onto the performers. Only one choreography may be entered.
- The application in writing on the enclosed form must be completed and returned to the organiser before March 15th, 2025. The applicant is free in his choice of subject and music. Details for both should be given on the entry form. The choreographic work can be send as an Internet link ( youtube, vimeo, etc.). The video may only contain the choreography to be performed in the competition. The duration of the performance, have to be between 5 and 12 minutes. A solo-ballet may not be interpreted by the choreographer him/herself.
- Admission to the competition is decided on by a pre-jury evaluation of the videos. Admission to the competition is subject to the organiser’s consent.
- Competitors are obliged to be available for performances on all three days of the competition. They agree to be available for rehearsals, press-conferences, interviews and radio and television recordings free of charge.
- The decision of the jury is final. If a competitor is a student or company member of one of the jurors, this particular juror will withhold his vote. After the competition the members of the jury will be available to competitors, upon request, for advisory talks.
- A total sum of 31.000.- EUR in prize money, as well as production awards will be awarded.

Audience award 1.000.- EUR
In addition, we will give Production Awards with the following conditions:
– Fee at least € 3,000 €
– Payment of travel expenses and accommodation during rehearsals
– Development of a choreography of at least 20 minutes with preferably more than four dancers of the company
– Accompaniment and support by the director of the dance ensemble and the rehearsal leaders
The Production Awards will be chosen by the director of each company. The aim is to give an Award to the choreographer they choose and find suitable for their company. There is no guarantee that the Production Awards will be given away.

Stage: Size of the stage (dance floor) 10 m x 10 m, black dance floor / Black curtain with wings, backdrop black or white opera
Lighting: Front light, back light and opera in white, yellow, red and blue / Wings white crosslight from right and left, white / 9 spots: 3 back, 3 middle, 3 front / 1 spotlight 1,2 kw HMI
Sound (music) only CD, MD, USB. No DAT!
Competitors will be informed of further details about six weeks before the competition.

Place and timing:
The competition will be held on June 19. until 21, 2025 in the Theater am Aegi, Aegidientorplatz 2, 30159 Hannover, Germany, Tel. +49 511 989 330. It will be staged on Thursday and Friday with an expert jury plus audience. The final will be held on Saturday night. Rehearsals will take place in the mornings of both first days. All participants are limited to 25 minutes for preparing the stage, setting the lights and rehearsing.

Accommodation and catering costs will be covered by Ballett Gesellschaft Hannover.
